...landscapes in oil.

"I paint because of the influences of Ajo.  My wife, Claire Bistline, and I moved to Ajo in 1997 where I was soon surrounded by artists.  Claire, our neighbors Ron and Sylvia Bower, Rich Davis, and our friend and art instructor, Robert Grogan, were continually engaged with art.  They were either discussing the various elements or actively painting.  I ultimately joined them and have been painting ever since.  I look forward to the Curley School project becoming a reality and being able to engage with more artists.

"I strive to interpret the incredible scenery and beauty of Ajo and the surrounding desert as well as the extreme contrasting beauty of North Idaho where we spend summers.  Painting for me is the study of light and color of seasons, weather and emotional connection with our environments."

"My work is on display at the Outskirts Gallery in historic East Hope, Idaho."
