Hop David...tessellations & computer art I grew up in Gila Bend, Arizona. Anasazi pottery, Tohono O'odham baskets and Navajo rugs were in many Gila Bend homes in those days. As a kid, I very much enjoyed the geometrical motifs found in Native American art. Other influences include M.C. Escher, Jack Kirby (who illustrated Marvel's 'Fantastic Four' and 'Silver Surfer'), Albretch Durer, and Rick Griffin (who illustrated Grateful Dead album covers). All of the above artists have a strong geometrical component in their work. My favorite traditional media include acrylic paints, pen and ink, and pencil, while my favorite computer softwares for making art are Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Excel. I work at the Ajo Copper News. My wife, Margarita, is a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office and my daughters Nellie and Nico are attending A.S.U. Visit http:clowder.net/hop/index.html for more examples of Hop's art.
