floor plans & rents
- The
spacious, open floor plans of these units range from approximately 620-square-foot studios
to 1500-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath units. Each unit has a "great room" for
added openness and studio space.
- Each unit enjoys high ceilings, enormous 8-foot windows and great light. Some have hardwood floors. There is an elevator in the main building. All garden-level units have private entrances. Some smaller units have sleeping lofts over storage areas.
- Units vary in plan. The floor plans shown here are typical, but may not be exactly the floor
plan you choose.
- Every unit includes: at least one full bathroom; central air conditioning and heating; stove,
refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave; insulated window shades; ceiling fans; washer/dryer
hookups.
- Water and sewer costs are covered by the Curley School.
- Electricity is individually metered and is the responsibility of the tenant. Call Ajo Improvement, 520-387-2000.
- The units
are all electric. Electric bills will vary with temperature settings for heat and
air conditioning and unit location in the buildings. Some units face the sun directly.
Average monthly utility estimates for Arizona for all electric buildings are: studio $55, one bedroom $76, two bedroom $98, and
three bedroom $121.
- Phone service in Ajo is either landline thru TableTop telephone, 520-387-5600, or cell phone. There is a local cell phone dealer at Radio Shack in Ajo, 520-387-5115.
- DSL Internet is also thru TableTop Telephone, 520-387-5600. To use DSL Internet, you also have to buy their landline service, about $80 a month total.
- There
is a coin-operated laundry on campus.
- There are 20 units in the 1919 three-story main building and 10 units in the 1937 J-wing. Our xeriscape plantings provide beautiful,
water-efficient landscaping.
Rents are based on size and income:
Rents vary from $375 for a studio to $650 for a 3-bedroom, 2-bath unit.
Lowest rents are based on an applicant not exceeding 30% of the area median income.
