Ajo Plaza Rec Hall

38 W. Plaza Street, Ajo, Arizona

The International Sonoran Desert Alliance invites the community to a Border Wall Town Hall and Listening Session focused on ongoing and proposed construction along the U.S.–Mexico border.

The event will welcome Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva and Chairman Verlon Jose for a community conversation about current and planned border infrastructure, including primary and secondary bollard walls, roadways, lighting and other construction taking place in culturally and environmentally sensitive areas of the region.

The town hall is intended to give community members an opportunity to hear more about the work underway, ask questions and share their perspectives on how these projects may affect the surrounding landscape and communities.

Ajo sits within a deeply interconnected borderlands region where environmental, cultural and community concerns often overlap. This listening session offers an opportunity for residents to be part of the conversation and learn more about issues affecting the Sonoran Desert and the people who call it home.

Community participation is encouraged.
