Summer 2026
Ajo Clay Studio at the Curley School Creative Campus
Get your hands in the clay this summer!
The Ajo Clay Studio is opening its doors to the community with summer workshops and weekly open studio hours, creating more opportunities for Ajo residents and visitors to learn, experiment and make something of their own.
Whether you’re completely new to clay or looking for a place to continue working on your craft, the studio offers a welcoming space to create alongside others.

Summer Clay Workshops
Two special workshops are planned for the summer:
Luminarias
June 6–7
Learn how to create a beautiful clay lantern during this hands-on weekend workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to shape and decorate their own luminaria while learning more about working with clay.
Christmas in July
Get a head start on holiday creativity with a workshop focused on handmade gifts and ornaments — because it’s never too early to make something special by hand.
Workshop fees are $25, or $10 for community elders and high school-age students. The fee includes materials, firing and access to open studio hours for the remainder of the month.
Community Open Studio Hours
Beginning in June, the Ajo Clay Studio will also offer weekly open studio hours:
Thursdays | 1–4 p.m.
Fridays | 12–3 p.m.
Saturdays | 1–3 p.m.
Open studio access is $5 per drop-in.
These informal studio hours are a chance to keep working on a project, practice your skills or simply spend a little creative time with others in the Ajo community.
